The Ghana Club 100 (GC 100) was launched in 1998 by the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) to recognize the best performing companies in Ghana. The GC 100 is about corporate excellence. Companies making it into the GC 100 are to serve as role models to businesses and provide a forum for corporate Ghana to interact with the government at high level.
The 2009 GC 100 rarkings marks the ninth edition of the GC 100 and comes with a reviewed ranking criteria
The Reviewed Ranking Criteia for 2009
With the new criteria, 65% of score will be derived from the audited accounts and the remaining 35% be based on a peer review mechanism that will be done via questionnaire. Full details for reviewed ranking criteria here.
The objectives underlying the 2009 GC 100 are Programme are:
- To serve as the basis for evaluating the corporate and financial performance of Ghanaian enterprises.
- To encourage good corporate governance particularly transparency, disclosure and accountability of Ghanaian enterprises.
- Encourage and promote Entrepreneurship.
- Reward innovation & Celebrate start-ups
- Encourage greater participation from different but strategic sectors of the economy.
- To develop a uniform basis for assessing CSR of Ghanaian Enterprises
